Games Like RuneScape
Runescape is a MMORPG which means: Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game. It is sometimes called MMO (Massive Multiplayer Online) for short. Runescape was made back in 2001 and it formed a path of a new look on MMO games. It is based in a fantasy world, much like other MMO and MMORPG online games, and has lots of adventure, which also is a part of other MMO and MMORPG games. Runescape is unique in several ways, which make it stand out against others. It used to have a great PKing (Player Killing) feature which provided an inspiration for people to make great accounts fit to kill. It has a range of difficult and easy quests and has a wide variety of skills to level up. The skills of Runescape are what really put it above many others. Most MMO and MMORPG games will have you choose your class, or type of creature. Creatures have certain skills they can acquire and professionalize. Runescape, in contrast, allows your character to be whatever you choose to be and whenever you want. One day you can train as a Warrior, the next day, a Magician. You can choose to train your combat skills, or work on skills that will make you money. Runescape definitely is superior in terms of flexibility.
Other Online Games Like Runescape
There are not a lot of games that are similar to Runescape. There are a lot of RPG Games, MMORPGs, etc, but not many of them are unique in the sense that I described above. However I do know some of them that are pretty close, and would give you a good challenge, as well as being very fun. World of Warcraft, Guild Wars, EverQuest 1 & 2, Lineage 2, Maplestory, SilkRoad Online, and Conquer Online. These all are at least similar to Runescape. A down side is some of these are pricy. You may have to pay per month, or buy a disk from a store. Not only that, almost, if not all, of these need to be downloaded and run on your computer, rather than having it on your browser conveniently.
Most Popular & Played Online MMO Games
The most popular Online MMORPG Game is World of Warcraft, otherwise known as WoW. They have well over 8 Million Subscribers so if you are willing to pay their hard-pushed price, then go for it! I have two excellent free MMORPGs that I recommend: Maplestory and Guild Wars. Guild Wars you have to buy at a store for the initial price, but other than that it is free. Maplestory is downloadable but is free from start to finish.
