well i wanna know where everyone belives they go when they die.

i follow my religion, but i dont remember it saying me being reincarnating in heaven.

im greek orthadox, and if anyone wants to fiill me in on that, id be very grateful.


but, i have a little belief of my own, when i die, id like to be able to watch my whole life over, from a 3rd person perspective, and be able to stop at points where i screwed up, and change them, to see how my life could have been.

the thought of not existing anymore, kind of scares me. i dont know. just a mental struggle. i feel we all go somewhere.

what are your views?

This kind of discussion always sparks a lot of debate. Glad you brought it up though, it's a pretty important topic.
Since I was brainwashed Catholic, I believe in the whole heaven and God thing. Basically because I have to.
Sometimes I wonder if that doesn't happen though. If it was all fake.
I would imagine it to be much like sleeping.
You know the way you never remember what happened when you were sleeping, or what you see when you're asleep (other than dreams).
I like your idea too though Link. Although it would kinda make me depressed seeing how good my life could have been if I wouldn't have made a tiny mistake.

well, i'm a christian..so i believe if you accept jesus as your one and only savior you're "saved" meaning when you die, or when jesus comes and takes his people(other saved christians), you will go to heaven.





anyway, i'm not a priest and i don't go to church that often, but it's a little bit that i know.

I think the same as Guy, no one really knows for sure but its better to live your life being a good person because you believe your going to go somewhere great than live it being a bad person because you don't believe your going any where. Even if it all is fake you have lost nothing if you live a "holy" life, whether it be baptist catholic or what ever because you would have helped other peoples lives and not contributed to most of the stuff that is messing up the world

Well me, I'm not religious, I am Agnostic.

If you don't know, agnostic's are people who accept other people's beliefs yet do not follow the exageration. For example: There might've been a guy named Jesus Christ many years ago who was a very good guy, gave to the poor, helped people, etc. etc. But miracles? nah

So anyway i believe when I die, I just rot in the ground :S. Sounds lovely right? The whole idea of not existing does scare me a little, but that's life, we take it as we believe it. Nobody knows what really happens and I think that people use their beliefs of "heaven" and "god" to avoid the innevitability of dying. And there is nothing wrong with that.

you get reincarnated into the same world only with diff people and you live your life backwards. i.e. if you die at 87 you live your like from 87-0 then you go back to the other world and live to whatever age and repeat

Who knows, I think it would be the most logical way of thinking about it.

But then again, what makes us different from everyone else (apart from bodies), we all have a different 'soul', so we could be put in a cycle to be re-used (with no memory of a previous life), or maybe a new one is made.

Although I remember one of my high school teachers telling me a story about this.

This was about 4 years ago, so can't remember every detail ^^

well us being the only life forms that have the gift of reasoning and descision making, have to play in with something or other.

like animals dont know theyre going to die, they just run off of instinct, they dont think about when theyre going to die.

well thats just my view, and the bible states that we "lost our innocence" when adam and eve were tempted to eat the apple. "loosing their iinnocence" basicly means that we were given the gift of concept and being able to decide for ourselves.
