Windows Vista Service Pack 1 beta set for September, full release in 2008
After all the talk about the schedule of the upcoming Windows Vista Service Pack 1, Microsoft has decided to step forward and have its definitive say. The beta version of SP1 is set to be rolled out next month to some 10,000 to 15,000 testers.
The update will include mostly bug fixes and will improve the reliability of Microsoft's latest OS and will introduce the already controversial DirectX 10.1. Vista's SP1 will be a lot smaller download than its XP/2003 predecessors and will weight in about 50MB.
The final version of Windows Vista's Service Pack 1 will be released in the first quarter of 2008.
