Hi,
I have been playing around making websites with php, and i want to create a mysql database. Ive got a book that tells me how to do it but it doesnt actually tell me how to connect to my server. Iv registered web space that allows mysql databases, but how to I connect to it through a command prompt on my windows machine? Is there any software I have to install? Thanks for any help.

I wouldn't start out difficult by using the command prompt. If you want to look into cmd some more try osql
but I wouldn't try that first. Find web space where you can edit the database with a pretty basic gui -->recommend zoka.cc<-- register a sub domain and play around with that. Then you can edit and retrieve data with your php files/sites.

My site specializes in almost anything pertaining to user creation, I'm def not on this a lot but I am on mine.
