Default Useful addons and how to install them. - 04-23-2009, 02:20 PM

Installing Addons is simple, and trust me, you want them.

First, Go to www.curse.com for all of your addons, because they are the best.
Then find the addon you want (Useful addons below), and click manual install.
I save it to my desktop.
Open your world of warcraft folder, and the folder you want is in Interface/addons. Move the file to this folder.
Then extract all of that file. Click show extracted files.
Copy this (these) folder(s) into the addons folder as well.
Now you're done and can play.

These are the addons I use:

Titan Panel : Shows all of your information on bars on top and bottom of your screen. Very useful and i love it. It also shows coordinates, which is what people use to tell you where to go most of the time.

Atlas Loot Enhanced: This isn't a necessity but it is nice. It helps you know what drops off certain bosses in certain dungeons which is useful if you need a certain piece of armor upgraded. You can check out the drop rates and even link the items into chat with this addon. I use it before i go to a new dungeon.

QuestHelper: My favorite addon. It shows you where to go and what to do and what to kill for certain quests, and if you want to skip one you can easily click Ignore. It shows you estimated travel times which is cool I guess and helps me level FAST. Use it or you are wasting your time.

Gatherer: This addon is very useful for gathering professions. It shows every mine you've ever looted or any herb you've ever harvested. Chests you've looted and anything like that. Very useful when leveling professions or farming gold. In other words, get it.

Those are the main addons i use.

Curse also has class specific addons which are useful as you can imagine. I play a mage so here are some mage specific addons.

SheepSpeak: Well this one is nice for when you are in a group. It tells when you are casting a certain spell so they know when you are making something unable to attack and not to bother it for now. Semi Useful for mages.

Mage Alert: This addon tells you when a spell becomes useable again. Helpful later on in leveling because you sometimes miss important spells you dont know you can use which can save your life.

If you have any good addons you know of feel free to post them here!
