After fighting several mages who were using Resurrection Wands with my own Berserk Wand, I wanted to check the damages because I was having a hard time against them. I had heard from several guild members that they got killed in a single ESW with ress wand (it did 2000+). At first I thought they were exaggerating, but later I realized that they were not.
I went to Bleeding Island and summoned monsters. At first I casted Magic Missile with my Berserk Wand and always did 60-70 damage. Then I did the exact same thing with Resurrection wand and it did 260-270. I was not surprised that it did more damage, but I was shocked that it was
that bad. I tried with almost every spell and it was the same with all of them.
I called System to test it on a player and it was still the same. I recorded a video of it, but I have had some problems with my video codecs. He had full HP (2000+) before I ESW'ed him with my zerk wand. Afterwards he said he had 469 HP left. That was an okay hit, but guess what happened when I ESW'ed him with my ress wand? Yep, that's right... He
died!
This is obviously a bug cause it cannot be true that a wand that costs 3 points or even less is better than a wand that adds 30% damage and costs around 600 points. It was the same thing with Oxy Hammer, but that seems to be fixed now. At one point it was the cheapest weapons that were the best ones.
I recently switched to being a mage and got myself a zerk wand and immediately felt the pain being a mage. I am a very experienced and good mage, but this server just favors warriors. I continually died in two crits cause Kloness Axes hit 1000+ often (sometimes even 1300), which I did not understand with my 6800 rep and two PA27 armors.
Anyways, I had a very hard time killing enemies with my zerk wand, but after I did the wand testing, I put my zerk wand in wh and EK'd with ress wand. Guess what, I have
never gotten so many EK's! It was SO much easier to kill people than with zerk wand. Then I started wondering if the melee damage was also bugged and me and System went to Bleeding Island again and he critted me 500+ with a wand! :?:
This should without a doubt be fixed asap and I hope it will be. Other than that, I think that the indirect ESW damage with zerk wand should be increased. People are like "OMG, ESW can do -1500 in ONE hit!! SO unbalanced!". NO! What people don't realize (probably because they are warriors themselves) is that mages rarely get to do a direct ESW in a fight. If they do, it's the warriors fault cause he/she can just run out of the line or dodge the ESW.
Warriors can crit -1000-1400 very often with KB or kaxe and people think that's fair cause ESW can hit 1500 with zerk wand. But hey, it's not! Because it takes longer to cast two ESW's and mages have to run to be able to cast ESW. That gives the warrior extra time to chug pots or just run the other way. It is so much easier for a warrior to get away from a mage than it is for a mage to get away from a warrior. As I said, they can just run the other way and cast invisibility or recall. If mages get crit two times with kaxe, they are dead in 1-1.5 seconds. That leaves the mage with absolutely NO chance to chug/invis/anything. But hey, that's fair cause ESW does more damage if the warrior is standing still with no pfm/ma - cause that happens sooooo often!
Just a few things that got on my mind. I got more to say, but at least not right now.
