Assuming your post is official, why have i gotten infractions for politely pointing out that some posted in the wrong section for this. I've even resorted to leaving messages for the staff saying I'm not trying to BSM. Still, I get infractions. Care to explain?

Misplaced threads should be reported to a moderator with the Report a Thread button.

Sarcastic and unhelpful comments in misplaced threads are spam, such as "tl;dr" and "WALL'o'TEXT".

Abusive comments are spam and flaming. This includes "STFU," "GTFO," "You fail," etc.

Posting a kind and helpful redirect to the correct forum, or replying to the topic in an appropriate fashion (e.g. rating an avatar thread, answering a question) will not result in a warning, but is discouraged because it bumps misplaced threads to the top of the forum.

Quoting, responding and getting flamey about people posting "the wrong things" in General Discussion is not recommended. This avoids a lot of future problems, such and warnings and bans because you "accidentally" insulted someone. Be aware insulting others will not be tolerated in this forum.

Report

Ignore

Politely respond pointing them to the correct forum.
