Default A possible Solution to the "Slow Trik" - 06-22-2008, 11:27 AM

Alright first off, if necessary I WILL get a VPS/Dedicated server. But I would like to try some possibilities out first.

My first idea is to split the forum into multiple sections. Here is an example if you don't understand what I mean:

Instead of their three options we would have:

"Trik.com" "Rs2 P-Server" "WoW P-Server" "Helbreath P-Server" etc.

Like it? Hate it? Tell me.

me no like.

keep the forum the way it is.

i like it how its all layed out right infront of me, and that would be too much clicking for me, going back and forth and all.

doing that would also force us to get a new skin,

and trust me. ill stab you if you change this skin.

Umm.. I'm not quite sure what the image your posting is meant to be..

But I think that having everything in one place would be better; it would be easier for everyone, especially for moderation and new members.

I'd probably have Trik.com as the forum and the other 3 options as categories with forums in them. For example:

Forum Layout Sample -

Trik.com Forum
-> Rs2 P-Server [Category]
---> Discussion [Subforum]
---> Account Support [Subforum]
---> Suggestions [Subforum]
------> Error Reports [Subforum of Suggestions]

-> WoW P-Server [Category]
---> Discussion [Subforum]
---> Account Support [Subforum]
---> Suggestions [Subforum]
------> Error Reports [Subforum of Suggestions]

-> Helbreath P-Server [Category]
---> Discussion [Subforum]
---> Account Support [Subforum]
---> Suggestions [Subforum]
------> Error Reports [Subforum of Suggestions]

etc..

Splitting the forum up in to multiple sections is a good idea but it wont get Trik faster xD

The reason it would make trik.com faster, is because the server load, and your computer load would be much less than having to upload all the boards in one go.

It'd make it somewhat faster I suppose but for me the server seems to go slow at different times of the day and then quite fast at others - like now it's going fine but this morning it was going so slow it took I'd 3 minutes to login compared to around 10 seconds if I were to login now.
Also, I've been getting some 505 internal server errors too, again usually in the morning (GMT timezone).

I don't think that splitting it up would make a huge difference, my computers is well capable of loading the forum's mainpage in 5 seconds, it's just the server that's not. My 6mbps download speed isn't getting enough use; make the forum's upload speed match please ...

Hey tell me how much cost will be on dedicated server because I might be able to transfer some money if you need any but just keep it the way it is and get a dedicated server

I get the same thing! Also, I wouldn't want to have the forum split up keep it the same pl0x.

It's fine for me..yea sometimes I get a few internal errors but I live with it, just refresh page.

Also I like the way the site's layed out atm.

Good thing for us here with a the equivalent of a dial-up connection -.-

BTW: 21, Always remember: PNG > BMP - [PNG is greater than BMP in the sense that PNG is smaller]
