Default Orb Tutorial - 04-20-2008, 11:09 PM

Well yea... This is one of the tutorials that I have made on another blackmarket... Enjoy!

In this Tutorial you will learn to make make a nice looking Logo that can be used for your Avatar, Signature or anything else...You will need to have some experience in photoshop for this Tutorial...

ENJOY

1. Create a new Document 80?80 pixels. Use these settings...

2. First call this layer "Gradient Circle". Now make a gradient of your own choice, I used the colors "E50000" and "A60000". Now use your gradient tool top to bottom. You should now have something like this.

3. Using the elliptical marquee tool, create a perfect circle holding down the shift key, make sure the circle is a few pixels from the edge. Go select<inverse then edit<cut. Now you should get something like this.

4. Select the layer Gradient Circle and go Select<Load Selection. Create a new layer and call it "Glossy". Select a Gradient that is white to transparent and with the area still selected use The Gradient top to bottom. Press Ctrl-T to Transform the size and shape and then soften it buy adding less opacity to it. This is what you should now have...

5. Once again, Go Select<Load Selection on layer Gradient Circle and then create a new layer, (make sure this layer is above layer Glossy) call this layer Overlay. On that layer, make a black and grayish gradient. Now use the gradient tool on the empty selected area, then change the Blending setting to overlay...You should get this...

6. Now on layer Overlay go select<load Selection then select<inverse and then select<feather (by 2 pixels)...Now use your eraser tool and rub like mad. This is what you should get.

7. Now Choose you favorite text and add your initial onto the logo...Put this text layer under layer Glossy...This is what you should get.

Well...thats about it. If having any problems with this tutorial, please pm me or post below...Thank you!

EDIT... the last three pics have a different colored background because the background of the image was made to match the color of a skin for another black market I used... no offence or anything, but this forums skin could use a fix up... don't like it much...
