I simply think that this rule leads to a more unjustified server. Also I think GMs would have better use for their time. What do you think?

In a server where people don't care about dieing, people would just do kamikaze runs. There will even be travelers trying to cheat their way to items. I like the thought that if someone should steal something really good from you, you will possibly get it back. Yes, it may only be with very good items, but it's a nice thought to have when you are hunting. I like the rule, but people should just not go all crazy when a Rep Potion gets stolen from them and expect kinger to ban people for it.

Using travellers to kamikaze items is already against the "unwritten" rule. As a side note that problem would be easily solved by requiring combat status or making trav max lvl 474 and maps lvl 475 req (you would get that one level when joining a faction).

Then how you specify stealing if the case was your own town's citizens? How does this rule make stealing impossible? - I can not see that but I can see so many loopholes that go the other way around like crimming first and then killing the monster. In my opinion all these problems have a better solution and come to a better solution without any GM involvement.

Finally, I have an example for you.

There is a battle between four mages, players A&B vs C&D. Player C cancels player B and at the same time player D starts to spam mass-blizz on the B. C proceeds to spam esw. They notice that B concentrates on eating pots instead of msing himself. So they continue shooting and out of nothing Player E comes to the picture and kills the player B and steals the EK with his first energy bolt. Player B drops his precious zerk wand. Player A can not pick up his friend's wand because that would be against the rule. Players C&D can not pick up the wand because that would be against the rule.

I say the rule failed.

i think in this kind of cases , there should be expection since friend is around .. hmmm , guess rules should change .

I am fed up with all that ongoing "you will be banned" - harassment. I suppose that was not the point of the rule. People just do not behave as intended for the rule to work.

that thing u explained about A , B , C, D, E, its jsuit bad luck, and what if E didnt appeared, and sudenly A MS-s B, cancel D and E, and they die?
sometimes you say, ohh i wass killing him you made the final toouch, what if he saved you? the enemy could got lucky or be chuging and kill you in the last moment...
its not a fail and still there are way too many thiefs...
jump on drops too fast that you cant crit them out fast enough
there should be 2-3 Steal GMs, or Guards, that are only gm helpers, and specialize in baning thiefs, and just after that they can show kinger/penelope the pic, cuz sometimes you cant contact kinger/penel and then they say, ONE WEEK AGO?!?!?!?! ARE YOU CRAZY!??! WTF UR GETING BANED
(not many times from penel, but many from kinger)
plz do that, 2-3 TRUSTED PPL THAT WONT ABUSE BANS, make them guards/steal gms.
that way GMs, can get a little more free time, wont be spamed That much, and thiefs will get what theydeserve
(im voluntary as thief guard/gm :P i hope yoou can trust me.. im the guy that always traslate spanish-english for gms :P)

There is a reason why devs made the loot drop on the ground instead of inventory. Although I would have been interested in hearing more comments about this, especially those with actual argumentation.

Well, in my opinion none can decide whether any of my points are absolutely right or wrong because those points are about players' preferences. Your comments include a conflict when you say "i explained why all ur points are wrong" and "its jsuit bad luck" because the latter one is an agreement with my example. Though I agree none likes thiefs but this rule does not "fix the problem" and instead it just introduces a whole lot more problems.

Usually the only no stealing rule is the reputation of players within players that make it impossible.

Honestly? Stealing is a part of hb. Cant be stopped. SPICEGIRL got banned for stealing a xrapier. They left it on the floor so he picked it up they said he stole and he got banned. Second time he got banned too for a complete lie. I can see why people want no steal rule but the word STEALING is so felxible.. u kill some1 after they kill a boss and take the items is that stealing?

agree with toilet, it so easy to bend he work steal in to your advantage such as, after you killed a monster, a player from an opposing city jumps and kills you and takes the drop, is that stealing or ek privilage? you see, hb has a messed up system of drops from mobs, unlike guildwars, it assigns the drop to a player in random order and it takes 10 minutes before it becomes available for the rest. I know HB is an old game ans stealing has been a part of the game. This is why you always have a mage handy doing ms and dt each time to protect you from getting jumped.

If you abuse one of the loopholes in no steal rule specifications (as it is very poorly specified) you can come up with this situation:

Conditions are same as in your example: there is a party (we suppose players are not completely partied with each other) that is killing abaddons and abaddon drops KB. The player who gets the killing blow notices it as his exp goes up. After that player makes a complaint to a GM that his kb drop was stolen. Considering the rule as it is now _you have absolutely nothing to say about that_, the KB belongs only to the killer.

lets just do it as it is now:
1- fighting mobs:
first to get to mob, is his mob, his drop
2-eking:
there is an ek anouncer, who ever the EK is, is his drop

as simple as that, 2 rules, dont break them and plair fair
i like them as they are now

but i have a doubt
if theres 4 guys kiling abby, when they r almost kiling u crit 2 in the back and kill them, yet the other 2 kill the abby and u kill them too, getingt the drops is stealing?
