Open up notepad or microsoft word, and save it as an HTML file. If you don't save it as HTML, it won't work.

Heres how your screen should look like:

<html>
</html>

This tells the computer that is starts and ends. Now add a title. For example,

<html>
<head>
<title>
Test page
</title>
</head>
</html>

The words 'Test Page' will appear at the top of your internet. Each time you make a change, save your code. To open it up onto the net, Go to file (on the internet) press open, and find your file. Now start your body where all your text is.

<html>
<head>
<title>
Test page
</title>
</head>
<body>
Hi, this is my test page.
</body>
</html>

Note: the enter key doesn't do anything. If you want to make text of different lines, key in <br>

woot im part of the gay staff lol, nice tut its simple and too the point, i suggest that people just mess around with it and try different things like adding bg colors then images etc.. gj though. may i also recommend you tell them to click save as all files or else you will get a file.html.txt..

it's usefull for very beginners, sorry to criticize but this is very basic HTML.

My recommendation is to add more to the guide like how to add pictures, a background etc.

This isn't really HTML at all? You could just put
"Hi, this is my test page."
On any type of file and it'll show that...... =.=
