Default Lsass.exe / mass reboots / blue screen reboots! - 01-22-2008, 08:59 PM

Could anyone help me out on this one, I have some issue with my comp rebooting,
Many times because of a failure in the Lsass.exe, does anyone know how to fix?
and I can have multiple reboots, where my screen turns blue and shows some text like 4 times in a row...
help? :O

First suggestion would be to back up all the files you like. Then format and re-install windows. If that fixes it. Was a software issue, if it still happens then its hardware. Maybe ram/vid/hd...

I am almost 100% sure its not a hardware issue, cause this is a very common error apperently, and windows was aware of that even 6 months before it first occured... But I have no idea how to fix it :S I guess ill have to format, thanks tho kinger.

The company I work for gets £85 an hour for me to troubleshoot and fix problems. But I guess I could do it for free:

- What operating system?
- What virus scanner? (if any)
- What firewall? (if any)
- Some basic hardware info?

If possible, use the following tool to create an audit and upload it: http://www.belarc.com.
Also, try and write down what the Blue Screens of Death (BSODs) say, they might be helpful.

Some things to try:
- Trend Micro online virus scan (search google)
- System Restore (Start->Programs->Accessories->System Tools)
- Rollback recently updated drivers
- Uninstall recently installed programs.

Some things to try (not recommended for novice users):
- msconfig (Start->Run->Type msconfig-> disable all non-microsoft services and startup items)
- If you have more than 1 stick of memory, try to run the PC on just 1. Try different combinations as there might be a faulty stick.
- Check your IDE Channels (in Device Manager under Hard Disks) are set to "DMA if Available".

I am willing to perform Remote Assistance if you like, also.

If your computer notifies you about a shutdown, you've probably got the SASSER virus:

im not sure does it help but u may try it ,

CAUSE
This behavior occurs because a driver or other problem damaged the input/output (I/O) driver structures.

1. Run hardware diagnostic tools that are provided by your computer manufacturer.
2. Disable all file system filter drivers, such as backup utilities, virus scanners, or firewall software.
3. View the following Microsoft Web site to verify that the hardware and the drivers for the hardware are compatible with Windows 2000:
http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/hcl/default.mspx (http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/hcl/default.mspx)
For information about the hardware on your computer, contact the manufacturer.
4. If you receive this error message randomly, or when you try to start a program, remove extra memory or have the random access memory (RAM) in your computer tested. This behavior may occur if you have bad RAM.

For more information about the parameters of the PFN_LIST_CORRUPT function, visit the following Microsoft Web site:
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms793247.aspx

the only way is back up all ur files and format C:

BSOD usually happens when window registry is screwed or ur graphic card is fried.

And Lsass.exe belongs to part of windows security

PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA is a memory problem.
