Pest Control
What is Pest Control?
Quote:

The Void Knights are devoted to keeping the balance that exists on Gielinor as decreed by Guthix. In the past this meant little more than the odd assassination, but times are changing. Recently, creatures from another realm have begun breaking through into this one, although these incursions have been limited to small islands to the far south of RuneScape. Outposts were constructed near the regular breaches to house the Void Knights whose magic was used to close the portals. Unfortunately, the invaders have become more aggressive and have managed to overrun some outposts before the ritual could be completed. Can someone help the Void Knights' effort and fight back against the creatures?

About Pest Control
Pest Control is one of the most effective training areas in the game, and can greatly speed the training of combat up, while keeping it fresh, and not repetitive. In addition to combat experience, you can choose from the Void Knight armor, and even herbs, seeds, and ores as your rewards.
Getting There
Getting to Pest Control is rather simple. At Port Sarim, there is a boat with a Squire near it. Talk to him, and he will take you.

The Monsters:
Brawler
Level 50, 75, 100, 128, 157
Brawlers are large monsters, varying in combat level and colouring. Generally these lumbering beasts will defend the portals and not stray too far towards the fort. Beware, however, as they will try to crush anyone who gets in their way!
Defiler
Level 33, 50, 67, 84, 101
Defilers are agile and fast movers, again varying in combat level and colouring. Beware, for they throw large barbs over great distances, and have the ability to attack you (or the Void Knight) from far away, inflicting large damage.
Ravager
Level 35, 52, 70, 88, 105
Ravagers are small humanoid beings with mole-like claws. Varying again in combat level, colouring and difficulty, Ravagers will have no problem tearing down and through defences with their claws. If you are to defend well, it is important to kill these before you lose your gates!
Shifter
Level 37, 56, 75, 94, 113
Shifters are dangerous melee fighters, with large spines on their backs. These have different combat levels and colouring, and watch out - these creatures can create small portals for themselves to teleport short distances away. They can even teleport past walls and up levels!
Spinner
Level 37, 55, 74, 87, 92
Spinners appear to float above the ground and use spider-like legs to repair the portals. They will not stray into battle to attack the Void Knight, but must be killed before they repair any portals.
Splatter
Level 21, 32, 43, 54, 64
Splatters look like a large ball of pulsing fluid with one eye in the middle. They should not be underestimated at all. Splatters are dangerous, as they will happily bounce towards your fort and explode! This inflicts damage to nearby objects and players.
Torcher
Level 33, 50, 67, 83, 100
Torchers are again varied in colour and combat level. These are winged creatures that fly towards the Knight to attack. Similarly to the defilers, torchers will use long-distance attacks, however these consist of magical fire.
Earning your Zeal:
Zeal, is the required damage, or repairing, you must do in a game to earn a commendation point. There are currently two ways of doing this.
Fighting: Each point of damage you do, you gain one point of zeal. A few seconds after the hit, the zeal will appear where it should.
Repairing: For each barricade you repair to full, you get 10 zeal. To do this you need an axe, and a hammer. From the main boat head out to a portal, cut some logs, and find a destroyed, or damaged barricade. Select repair, and it will repair one part of the barricade for each log you have in your inventory. If you have sixty or higher combat, I reccomend fighting, as you will get zeal faster.
Rewards
Rewards! What you do this game for! Points are the reward for winning, and can be exchanged for training in any combat skill. Also, if destroying the portals, you get your combat level X 10 in gold.
