its because vista still got lots of things to be fix , and the RAM usage of vista is way higher than XP , so if u have a vista . u need atleast 2GB of ram to keep it in a stable condition .

that's my points , correct me if im wrong .

yeah vista eat out precious RAM for User Interface (semi transparent/icon/etc..).. I dont think I will upgrade to vista in near time.

If you look at the requirements of most modent games you will see

Windows XP
512 meg RAM, 600Meg HDD space, GeForce 6800

Windows Vista
768 meg Ram 600Meg HDD, GeForece 7200

Vista is a resource hog. I would never use it on a gaming PC.

its true, and really anoying beacuse vista looks so nice, but is so useless to gamers

I work in the field and vista is nothing but hassles.

It looks half decent but runs as bad as winme.

but again, i love the looks, and the sidebar, but i just downloaded the sidebar for xp so it doesnt really matter now

Vista really sucks, besides all its ram hogging. As for the widgets or docks and all, you could always get the Stardock package namely WindowsBlinds and ObjectDock. They don't come cheap though.
