gray or black .. mostly for mages who need a good aim anyways..

umm if you knew the type of computer I had, you'd know why I use it. it helps my fps by like 10, and thats alot, without it I get like 30fps, with it i get 40-50... so dont go telling me its for nubs when I have a purpose for using it. So i can play the damn game with a decent framerate

Gray sprites don't increase fps.
To your video card,
0xFFC0C0C0 is no different from 0xFF04AB8F
Just different bits set. It's how colors are displayed and any 2 colors are the same size and the sprites are the same size so changing colors won't get your framerates to change no matter what.
Removing sprites or shrinking sprites WILL improve framerate though.

LOL at least his screenshots have good details on them.
I always play at the lowest detail although im running
NVidia Geforce 8800 GTS/AMD x2 5000+ with a
2587Kbps dl/406Kbps ul speed
(BT running at the back when test was conducted  )
- Press ctrl+d to switch detail settings (High/Med/Low)

Net speed doesn't affect fps.

Ok then you come to my house and watch it actually improve my FPS, because it does, Why would I make that up? I cant explain to you why it does, but it helps my shitty computer and thats all that matters.. btw I dont have a video card. I have the built in one on an oldschool motherboard, not any ATI or GeForce or shit like that.

meh, believe what you want. While you sit behind a computer that is variable I look at code that is static. While one minute your comp gets 60fps, the next it's at 30. You can't say that's accurate in whether your fps is really faster. It could have just been the circu|mstances. The same function drawing the same amount of pixels and the same amount of bytes will generally get th e same speed. you know.. it's like painting your car gray expecting it to go faster. If you're trying to get better fps you probably removed trees right? If you did, that's your 10fps boost. Each tree is 2 sprites minimum being drawn.

showing detailed color and showing grey are two diff things in my opinion, but look at it however you want. Either way it helps my comp and im keeping it on as long as the game performs better no matter what anyone says. I notice a difference there-fore Im keepingit

i agree with dragonis .. those have bad rig needs custom sprites to increase a few fps ( which is important ) .

Gray is just another color and there is nothing that makes it any different from any other color. It does not render faster than any other color and having gray sprites does not make your fps go up. Removing trees does and that's probably where the fps increase came from. Custom sprites and removing/downsizing sprites are two different things. Only if the sprite is smaller or -gone- will it actually go faster. Otherwise to the comp, gray is the same as red or orange. Just different bits set.

There are few ways to do it. One way is to edit the source and improve some drawing functions, another is to remove paks (which he DID it looks like) like trees and such that can be removed, another is shrinking paks that are generally unused (making them smaller, need pak editing abilities to do that). Those are ways to do it in the client. Others include setting your acceleration down on your graphics, I tried the dual core thing by disabling one core but it didn't help at all. If anything it lowered my fps doing that. There are so few ways to do it but there are so many myths. Net speed does not increase fps. Gray sprites do not increase fps. Black sprites do not increase fps. The client is not built to optimize its drawing procedures so it will not write similar colors faster. YES there are ways to do it but NO the HB client does not.

well you know what like I said I dont care, I see a difference in using it then when I wasnt so Im going to keep using it.. Im not even a mage so its not like it really helps me. I just prefer it now cause it seems to make a difference for me and thats that. I dont get how you could call using them Nub anyway. all it is, is a different color sprite thats easier on the eyes

Grids in general are for nubs that can't aim. Even if you're not a mage there are gray sprites and apparently now grid gray sprites and you chose the grid :P and yes, gray sprites are for nubs who believe they help. Don't see why people can't just use the normal sprites. An interface change is understandable. That thing gets old.. but the ground? If people want a change in sprites how about someone make some new armors instead of editing a color on something that doesn't really matter. If anything, looking at a screenshot with gray sprites makes my head hurt because it looks bad.
