which one do you prefer apple or microsoft?

i prefer microsoft probably because im more familiar wiht it and more machines use windows so i use that as it is compatible with most of mi schools computers

Well it depends:

I personally would prefer a microsoft computer because it supports three times as many programs that Apples can. However, many graphical design software are available to apples only. All master photoshoppers and animators make gfx with a apple computer. Plus, macs are safer than windows because there are currently no viruses, spyware, trojans, etc. that can work on a Mac.

Everyone uses windows because it is so easy to use.... which makes it an easy target for malicious hackers. Windows computers have much better processors, much better graphics cards, much better RAM, etc. Many games and apps all run on Windows. So if you are a person who likes to play games, get windows.

Unix and Linux are less popular O.S.'s. They are mainly used for databases and coding because they are the safest operating system in the world

i use both and perfer both because i use the internet on my apple because its less vulnarable then windows comps but when its games i use windows

i agree with delta, he's looking at it form the computer literate side of the gamble. and to be honest. i work on computers for a living and believe me when i say microsoft has its advantages! but so dose apple. its all a matter of what you use your computer for. if you know what your doing then microsoft can be just as safe as apple. so it cna go either way. Personally i'm a microsoft man, i know my way around microsoft software alot better then apple. but thats my person prefrence.

twice so far since i got it. i h8 it but i luv

U have to buy a windows XP cd, its like 50 bucks nowadays....Vista isnt crashing ur laptop tho...that may be a bug or a worm in ur laptop, or something may be wrong with the hardware.

It depends on what you want. No viruses is great for a mac because it never gets any viruses. But I think Microsoft is overall better.

I'd hate to interrupt the "Pro-Microsoft" discussion but whoever one of you said "macs never get viruses.." guess again.

The main reason why hackers don't code viruses for macs are because (1) there are less people using it and (2) it doesn't support ActiveX at ALL. I mean, windows can support activex in ie, so many hackers can trick people in coming to their websites, installing an RAT from an open port that the activex control opened and then they can install a RAK (remote access keylogger) onto their computer.

thus, whenever you visit paypal or something, you get keylogged . That's why its a good idea to always use Window's On-Screen Keyboard (Windows>All Programs> Accessories > Accessbilities) when inputing this type of info.

heatwave, about windows vista.

(1) Vista has just been released this year
(2) Vista's fancy GUI drains laptop's batteries as hell (read it from techrepublic.com) (which is why on every computer I go to, I always use the Windows Classic theme)
(3) You have no use for vista whatsoever. You don't need a 64 bit CPU processor. There's no point. In the generation of vista, each laptop will have a worser processor (i mean, there are a ton of win xp computers which use ~3.1 GhZ X2 or X4 processors, the highest i seen on a vista was a 2.7 GHZ X2).
Many applications aren't compatible with vista

but, non computer geeks (burn in hell guys == jk) will always go for the INTERFACE over the FEATURES and CAPABILITES.

So anyways back to the topic, Mac users feel like they don't need antiviruses; but once one worm infects a mac, there is no stopping it from spreading to the entire "MacWorld".

So if no hacker codes a worm for mac, i'll do it myself..
