Default Angels and their effects on FPS. - 08-01-2007, 09:14 PM

Anyone who isn't an idiot realizes there is a big difference between running around at 100+ fps and running around at 60- fps. For some gay reason even if the angel sprite is removed and the sparkling sprite removed it still drops your fps by 40 (or mine at least).

Does anyone know how I can resolve this issue so I can keep myself at 100+ fps and actually be able to competently play the game?

I assume you have checked into the fps improvement guide here:
http://www.helbreath.biz/hbuforums/viewtopic.php?t=79

As for the angels themselves I honestly have no idea.

Well yeah I know how to improve my fps but there is only so much you can do on a piece of shit laptop. The sparkling effect given off by angels, medusa shields, etc... can be removed by messing with the paks but it doesn't fix the fps issue. For some reason even with the pak removed it still lowers your fps.

lol i'm sorry but a couple "sprites" that the angels use won't lower your FPS down to 60 from 100, that's a card issue, and it happens with mine as well

As my theory tells, you could delete your whole SPRITE folder for the pleasureful fps improvement, but as we all know, we most likely won't be able to see any single object. What we do know is that there's some certain fishes affecting the ammount of FPS, which mostly have been dug out by the mankind but you can't overwhelm the line or otherwise it will stop working (properly). All what you can do has been said and every part of it will improve your FPS by little. Average 60 fps as for a common laptop is usual and I guess there's a small possiblity to double it. :P

It's caused by all the sparkling effects [activated weapons, armor, angels, etc...] And yes obviously it isn't the sprite that's causing it as I explained earlier removing the sprites does nothing.
Knowing this doesn't really help me.

I use a laptop and get 250fps.

tablet none the less.

(not lan side)

The effects are called for in the client I believe so removing the paks wouldnt help persay. (not 100% sure on this)

I get my laptop running smooth by disabling every single windows service that is not vital or needed. Take a look at services.msc (Ill post a guide later for this, since it is useful for whom dont know it)

Use atitool to overclock if you really want to risk it. (I used to overclock for months when playing bf2)

Check your refresh rates for your monitor. (increase it)

Obviously close out of any programs not being used especially av systems.

The last tip which will sound a lil bit crazy. Login to hb. minimize it. Walk away for 30mins (leaving it running) and see if that helps. Dont ask why, try it if you want.

And I suppose your laptop is a way over the common laptop?

Atleast according to the certain different outcomes, I can say that increasing the FPS mostly isn't the matter of sprites what so ever. Remove the hoods or not, use the glitter or not, the maximum improvements will stay between -25 till +25, depending on the certain case.
But I can't stop loving every each possible way you can improve your experience of Helbreath gaming. Every single application, every single driver, every single buttscratch affects your gameplay, that's the most suprising thing about this game and that's the one of the reasons I'm attracted to this mystery (known as Helbreath for mortals). I will chew my own words with the other side of this sentence, but seriously, FPS in Helbreath has no limit.

I'm telling you right now, these sprites in this game are not going to drop you FPS unless there's about 1000 angels in one screen, and you're running photoshop, dreamweaver, iTunes and a bunch of other programs... The angels are not the problem...

Actually when I removed the pak I seem to run faster, but now hero armor seems to lag me down to 60fps

I'm not sure who you are talking to but I am telling you right now when somebody who has an item with an effects walks on to my screen my fps immediately drops to the 60 mark causing me to run slower.

When they are not on my screen it is at 100 which allows me to run quicker. The most common of these items is angels that's why I specifically mentioned them.
