Project Omega is a guide explaining the new type of pures, Obsidian Pures, they are an upcoming and there are not many hardcore Obsidian Pures around at the moment. This guide will explain the pros and cons to an Obsidian Pure, how to make one and what to use it for, Pking or Staking.
In This guide I will also include a few ways to make the money to start this Pure.

Explanation Of An Obsidian Pure
An Obsidian Pure, or Obby Mauler as they are more widely known are a different kind of pure than normal, instead of having 70 Attack for an Abyssal Whip, or 60 Attack for Dragon Weapons, they have 1 Attack, Many people ask why this is and they usually only get one answer, to keep my combat level low. There is also another reason for this. Level 1 Attack is all you need for a weapon that is as fast as an Abyssal Whip but only half as powerful. Before an Obsidian Pure is started the owner must think whether or not they can afford it, if they die, currently the average cost of a Tzhaar-Ket-Om Aka. An Obsidian Maul is around 125-150k. But added into that the cost of the other weapon which is used for Pking, Potions, Food, Amulets And all other Pking gear, this type of account can be very costly.

Statistics Of Equipment / Pking Gear

Possible Melee Weapons:
Iron Scimitar: Slash +10, Crush -2, Strength +9 Used for low level training
Slayer’s Staff: Slash -1, Crush +25, Strength +35 With the required 55 slayer.
Tzhaar-Ket-Om: Slash +0, Crush +80, Strength +85 With the required 60 strength

MSB: Range +69 Used for Pking, MSB + Obby Maul Combination
Rune Knife: Range +25 Used for staking
Crystal Bow: Range +100 (If New) Possibly used for training

How To Obtain The Money To An Obsidian Pure
There are many ways of obtaining the money to create this type of pure, although there is not really any high risk training areas, food, amour and jewelry like Amulet of fury or Berserker necklace is still required.
There are a few ways I can think of to make cash very quickly; I’m not going to explain them all as this is not a guide about merchanting. To start off with, in the first stages of training the pure the only things of value that are needed are a few amulets of power and Iron items. There is a simple way of doing this, do the rune mysteries quest and mine 1k regular essence to sell for 30k or simply transfer some cash from your main.
When members you should mine pure essence and sell for 100gpea, that is quite a good way to make money.

Starting Out
First of all, every pure needs a good name, not something like 0o0o0o or a name that would be associated with a non Pker, if you’re planning on making the account into a staker then you should pick something in it with a zero that can be changed into an “o” as to mislead people on the stats. The name should be original instead of something like “Il_Pur3sp3c_Il” it should be like “Vengeance” or “Conviction”. After you have found a name that you like you should do Tutorial Island, while on the island you should leave every stat at 1 except strength which should be trained to level 3 on the giant rats after the mining part.

Levels 1 – 50 Strength
Many of the people who Endeavour to make Obsidian Pures give up at the first hurdle, these levels can be some of the longest and most boring times that you have on the account. After finishing Tutorial Island you should either transfer full iron, an iron scimitar and an amulet of power or start making money using the techniques listed above. Basically there are only a few ways to do this without using masses of food, the way I prefer is to move over to Port Sarim and kill Seagulls or go north and kill chicken in the pen which is by the cows at Falador. To get Level 50 strength from level 1 you will have to kill around four thousand seagulls. It will be worth it in the end, even when not even nearly finished you can hit up to 21’s at around level 30 combat.

Levels 50 – 80 Strength
These levels are much easier compared to 1 – 50, at this point in the training membership is required, the trick is to buy an Obsidian Cape and a Red Topaz Machete, the machete is about the only weapon you can wield at that level which is anywhere near decent for training, also the Cape provides a small defense bonus. The trick is to go to rock crabs north of Seers where the crabs give a whopping 200xp per kill. At level 60 strength you are able to use the Obsidian Maul; you should be around level 30 combat and able to hit up to 21 if a super strength potion is used.

Levels 80 – 99 Strength
This is where it becomes very easy to train, with a good pest control world; you can easily gain as much experience per hour as a pure with 60 Attack. Simply by using either the Red Topaz Machete or the Slayer Staff (Read Section on Pking.) Using either off the weapons when attacking monsters at Pest Control would provide sufficient zeal per game to get the point, through this way money can also be made per game. Although you would hit quite high damage, I suggest using strength potions.

Quests
The quests depend entirely on what your pure is going to be a Pker or a Staker and if you’re getting prayer or not.

Player Killing
There are many strategies for Player Killing with an Obsidian Pure, in lower levels it is somewhat restricted though, and the most effective way of Player Killing at low levels is to use a red Topaz Machete, with super strength potions you will hit quite high and the Obby Maul would be used for it they are on about 5hp for the Kill. At higher levels there are more options, you could get Level 55 Slayer and Pk with a slayer staff and an Obby Maul, requires Level 1 Attack, I personally have found this combination the most effective as the slayer staff is as fast as an Abyssal Whip and quite powerful for a weapon requiring Level 1 Attack. For the people who can’t afford to lose over 200k if they die, Level 25 Prayer or high is recommended for the Protect Items prayer.

Item Staking
For Item Staking the best combination is that of Ranged and Melee, you should get a high range level, around 70 ~ 80, when item staking you should wear Rune Knives and a completed Unholy Book, The Rune Knives would be for getting the target down to Low Health and the Obby Maul to finish them off.

Notes
An extra buy would be the new obsidian necklace, with it at Level 35 you can hit up to 30 as it increases the damage done by obsidian melee weapons by 20% while decreasing your defense stats which isn’t much of a problem.
